The Book/Movie Connection

December 10th, 2009 · No Comments · Posts

There are a few movies which have come out recently (or will be out soon) that add to the many movies that have been made based on children’s books. I think it is always fun to make sure that you have read the original first and then see how they compare.

Look out for Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett, and coming in February, The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan!

Which did you prefer–the movie or the book? What was different? Were things shown differently than you imagined them?

Aaaah, summer… Time to relax and hit the beach with a pageturner. If it rains, the book can move inside with you. Where ever you like to read, don’t let the summer pass you by without losing yourself in the wonder of a good book!

Here are some suggestions that you might enjoy from the librarians at Chatsworth, Central, Murray, and Mamaroneck Avenue Schools that you can view from home. These lists are within our book catalog and have the advantage of showing the cover of the book and providing a summary.

(Try using the links directly. If you do not immediately see a list of books, and instead you see a list of the schools, choose Chatsworth and then click the Catalog tab. Select Resource Lists on the left, click on the Public Lists tab and select the desired list. )
